Francine Azouz - President

Francine is a Masters student at the Department of Tropical Medicine at UH Manoa, where she works towards the development of novel therapeutic interventions for the clinical management of mosquito-borne viruses like Zika and West Nile Virus.

Lauren Ching - Vice President

Lauren is working on a Masters degree at the Department of Tropical Medicine at UH Manoa. Her research focuses on investigating Kawasaki Disease immunopathogenesis and assessment of the efficacy of doxycycline treatment in coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation, as well as Zika virus serodiagnostic studies.​

Joanna Kettlewell - President

Joanna is a third year Ph.D. student at the Department of Tropical Medicine, where she studies HIV neuropathogenesis. Prior to enrolling in this graduate program she gained experience working as a scientist in a state public health laboratory,

Lauren Ching - Secretary

Michael Fernandez - Treasurer

Michael Fernandez is a Graduate Certificate student in the Department of Tropical Medicine, where he works on developing diagnostic tools for Malaria. Before enrolling into the Department of Tropical Medicine, Michael obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biological Chemistry from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. 

Alex Settle - Events Coordinator

Alex earned his B.S. in Biology and Graduate Certificate in Tropical Medicine from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. He is currently applying to medical school. He was inspired by the Student Immunization Initiative of Hawaii (SII) commitment to public health advocacy and continues to support SII's efforts by helping organize events designed to educate and engage the public. 

Lindney Acosta - Membership Services

Lindney is a Public Health major at University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She enjoys educating her community about the positive impacts of vaccines.

Meldrick Ravida - Website Manager

Meldrick is a Public Health and Filipino Language & Literature BA candidate at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. He plans on continuing to graduate school with a concentration in Public Health education.
